There are 19 positions of director in the structures of the University of Botswana (UB), says the Assistant Minister of Education and Skills Development Dr Unity Dow.

Dr Dow told Parliament on Monday, December 1 that currently, there are nine positions of director that are filled on acting capacity and that the longest period an employee has acted as director at UB is four years six months.

She said that UB continues to recruit Professors and academics who are world class to fill vacant posts of directors adding that “it is not unusual for this process to take some time to identify suitable candidates.

”MP for Selibe Phikwe West, Mr Dithapelo Keorapetse had asked the minister to state the number of positions of directors in the structure of UB, the number of such positions filled on acting capacity and the longest period an employee has acted as director at UB. ENDS
