The annual Mascom chief executive officer’s party brought an early Christmas to some orphans and vulnerable children in Letlhakane.
Mascom communications and public relations officer, MsTebogo Lebotse-Sebego said Mascom chief executive officer had been hosting the party since 1999 and so far 13 places had benefitted from the noble initiative.
Ms Lebotse-Sebego said this year, Mascom CEO and other senior managers chose to host the party for over 100 orphans at Letlhakane in the Boteti Sub-district.
The gesture, she said, was part of the Mascom’s corporate social responsibility (CSR) aimed at putting a smile on the children’s faces to contribute towards Botswana Vision 2016 pillar of “A Compassionate, just and caring nation.”
She said through the party, the company would like to give back to the community by showing love, hope and care to the less privileged children of Letlhakane. The company gave the children presents, spent time playing games with them and had lunch together.
The council legal adviser, Ms Tebogo Phetoso thanked Mascom for taking care of the children as council was unable to give them presents due to shortage of funds.
Giving a vote of thanks, Councilor for Metsiaela ward in Letlhakane, Mr Boitshwarelo Mopedi thanked Mascom, saying their good efforts were visible to all. ENDS
