The past weekend was a showdown in the be Mobile Premier League and it can only get better as the teams head off to another thrilling weekend of action.
There were twists and turns which saw a reshuffle for some teams in the league log but all that will be forgotten as the teams aim to improve and maintain their standing.
The first fixture of the week 12 will see BMC host Notwane at Molepolole Sports Complex today (November 28) at 7 pm.
BMC were handed their first league defeat in this campaign by leaders and defending champions Township Rollers in their last match and will aim for a better result against Sechaba.
Still hanging on to their second spot, three points for Ezinkomo Zia Hlaba will ensure they retain their spot ahead of Mochudi Centre Chiefs who are breathing down their necks, just a point behind.
A win for Notwane will motivate them after losing against Ecco City Greens in their last match. Losing against possibly this season’s weaker side was a wake call for Notwane currently sitting on the 11th spot.
On Saturday, all roads will lead to SSKB stadium where Police XI will host Gaborone United in a do or die match at 4pm. Police will welcome Moyagoleele after succumbing to a 3-2 defeat at the hands of FC Satmos last week. Still hanging on to their fourth spot behing Magosi with goal difference, a win for the Jungle Kings will ensure they remain in the top four.
Gaborone United will travel to Police XI’s den still oozing with confidence after winning their last game against BDF XI therefore all will not be lost. With the money machine back to scoring ways, Police will have a tough job at the back.
After their home ground goals gallore win against Letlapeng last Saturday, Sankoyo Bush Bucks will now face a real test as they travel to Selebi Phikwe to tackle Nico United at 4pm. The hosts, Nico United, are more confident than ever after playing the 16 minutes on Wednesday which secured their spot in the semifinals of the Mascom Top 8 and a win is what they aim for.
Ngurungu on the other side will aim to improve their record away from home and a win will also increase their chances of moving into the top 8 spot.
Everything will change for Extension as they host FC Satmos at the New Lobatse Stadium at 3:45pm. Also on 21 points like the three teams above them, Gunners go into the game with hopes of jumping few spots up if the teams above them lose points. FC Satmos on one hand got their confidence back in the last game after losing to Gaborone United three consecutive times in a space of two weeks.
In Franscistown stadium, it will be the battle of the teams at the bottom of the league as ECCO City Greens host rookies BR Highlanders at 4PM. Separated by only two points, ECCO and BR Highlanders will both take a step into to getting out of the relegation zone.
ECCO got their first win last weekend and another one against the vulnerable Highlanders will help bring their pride back. Highlanders also won their last game away from home therefore another win help the team which was promoted this season.
The big giants which has been sleeping in the recent games, Magosi will host Motlakase Power Dynamos at Molepolole Sports complex at 4PM. Magosi go into the game after failing to overcome Nico United in 16 minutes game which saw them being knocked out of the cup. After a loss to Orapa United on Sunday, November 23, Mochudi will be under pressure to get back on track and start winning games. Motlakase will also be on alert after their loss to Gunners in their last game.
The league leaders and defending champions Township Rollers which has opened a 5 points lead at the top with their endless wins will meet Orapa United at Serowe Sports complex at 6PM.
Rollers are on their best form in and will aim to increase their lead at the top while Orapa United hope to defeat another Goliath.
On Sunday, November 30 the only match of the day will be a clash against Letlapeng and BDF XI at the New Lobatse Stadium at 3:45PM. The Ramotswa based side, Letlapeng which is still in shock after being electrocuted 6-2 by fellow newcomers Sankoyo will be very cautious at the back or else risk another thrashing.
BDF XI which has done not anything to live up to their last season’s performance will be back after losing to GU last weekend. ENDS
