Botswana has 72 Chinese manufacturing companies

Botswana has 72 manufacturing companies and 600 trading companies owned by Chinese, which have been operating in the country since 2008.
Responding to a question in Parliament, Assistant Minister of Trade, Mr Sadique Kebonang said the nature of business for companies in manufacturing comprised, among others, metal products, wood and wood products, concrete and textile and wearing apparel.
Under the trading business, the sectors involve among others, baby shop, bookshop, cellphone shop, drillers, industrial hardware and motor dealership.He was responding to a question asked by Selebi Phikwe West MP, Dithapelo Keorapetse, who had asked the Assistant Minister to state the number of Chinese companies and their nature of business.
