Francistown stadium project on course

The Minister of Infrastructure, Science and Technology, Mr Nonofo Molefhi says the completion programme for the Francistown Stadium is split into two components for ease of implementation and monitoring
Mr Molefhi explained that the stadium arena works comprised the running track, soccer pitch and associated infrastructure, and that the contractor started work on June 12 this year and was scheduled to complete on April 31, 2015.
He added that the current physical progress was assessed to be 68 per cent with the running track and soccer pitch complete except for the laying of the rubber track and irrigation pipes.
Furthermore, Minister Molefhi said the contractor started work on crowd control facilities alterations and renovations and associated infrastructure comprising 38 ticket booths, 14 tuck shops, waterproofing and renovation of ablutions on the East and West stands on June 30 this year and was due for completion on June 8 net year.
He also told Parliament that the current physical progress was assessed at 28 per cent with 32 out of 38 ticket booths and tuck shops for crowd control completed. Again, he said the major outstanding works were the electrical installation and renovation of ablutions.
Francistown South MP, Mr Wynter Mmolotsi had asked the minister to give an update on progress made so far at the Francistown Stadium and when the facility would be fully complete. ENDS
