Settlements incorporation not approved
20 Nov 2014
Parliament has been informed that settlements of Kgare/Sebotswane, Mosupi and Kolozane were not part of the July 2013 settlements approved for incorporation into the villages of Ditshegwane, Maboane and Salajwe respectively.
Responding to a parliamentary question on November 19, Assistant Minister of Local Government and Rural Development, Ms Botlogile Tshireletso said the reason was that there was no submission of a resolution from Kweneng District full council recommending their incorporation into the said respective villages.
She said for such settlements to be considered, the due process of consultations for recognition of settlements must be followed accordingly through the district structures up to full council with a resolution submitted to the Ministry for consideration.
Takatokwane MP, Mr Ngaka Ngaka had wanted to know if the Minister of Local Government and Rural Development was aware that the said settlements were not incorporated into the villages of Ditshegwane, Maboane and Salajwe.
He had also wanted to know why and when they would be incorporated. ENDS
