Ministry not aware of loss of livestock
20 Nov 2014
Assistant Minister of Local Government and Rural Development, Ms Botlogile Tshireletso says her ministry is not aware of any loss of domestic animals by Kaudwane residents as a result of Kweneng District Council mechanics’ delay in replacing the borehole filter.
Answering a question in Parliament, Ms Tshireletso said the records indicated that the last breakdown of the borehole at Kaudwane was on October 12 this year and was given priority as it was attended to the same day.
Ms Tshireletso noted that the council continued to monitor the same borehole from October 13 and it had been working since then to date.
She was answering a question from MP for Takatokwane Mr Ngaka Ngaka who had asked the Minister if she was aware that Kaudwane residents lost their domestic animals as a result of the Kweneng Council mechanics taking more than 2 weeks to replace the borehole filter.
MP Ngaka had also wanted to know what steps would be taken to replace the lost animals and when. ENDS
