Extra rentable space, a fashion avenue for brand savvy clientele, a multi-function entertainment area, a children’s play area and a restaurant area with terrace sitting are to be added to the Game City Mall.

“We want to take the mall to a level that in the next 10 years will still be relevant,” said the managing director of Turnstar Holdings Limited, Mr Gulaam Abdoola at the ground breaking ceremony on November 18.

He said the 8 500 m² expansion signified their dedication to provide a quality shopping experience for Batswana.  Mr Abdoola also noted that it was the fourth time the mall was being expanded and revamped.

The head of RMB Botswana, Ms Pauline Motswagae said they were proud to be associated with Turnstar Holdings, and that the company fits perfectly the criteria for their business model and financing.

She said she hoped the project would create jobs and contribute to the economic development of the country.  “We also hope the project will be completed on time and within budget,” she added.

RMB is a division of FNB Botswana Limited and FirstRand Bank Limited, a leading African corporate and investment bank and part of one of the largest financial services groups in Africa. The bank has funded various infrastructure developments, mergers, acquisitions and development projects in over 35 African countries over the past decade and is the leading investment banking partner on the continent.

Turnstar Holdings board chairperson, Mr Cuthbert Lekaukau said he was happy to be partners with RMB Botswana and noted that the partnership was not only between the Roman Catholic Church who is the landlord, Turnstar and RMB but most importantly it was a partnership with customers. ENDS
