Collegium publishers applaud Maranyane

Collegium Educational Publishers  has applauded Maranyane Primary School in Kanye for academic excellence that was made possible through partnership between students, teachers and parents.

The chief executive officer of Collegium, Ms Soso Mweendo, said the school was evidently nurturing young minds who were being prepared to be business people, leaders and competent citizens in the global world.

When addressing students, parents and teachers in Kanye on November 14 she said the school had never under performed for the past four years and this was as a result of commitment and dedication to the culture of continuous learning and the quest for excellence.

She said the school has never suffered any social ills such as vandalism, drug and alcohol abuse, teenage pregnancy and Satanism which has ruined most children’s lives. 

“May a I urge you never to leave God out of your lives, he is the answer to everything, above all you need one another to uplift the good work you are renowned for, therefore this will require on your part, greater team work, collaboration, focus and agility’’, she said.

Ms Mweendo urged the school to intensify the partnership with all who play a pivotal role in aiding improvement in the country’s education landscape.

Speaking on behalf of the director of education in Southern District, the principal education officer Mr Gokgonamang Ntshiamisang advised them not to be discouraged by lack of resources, adding that the right attitude resulted in good success. 

He noted with concern that the ministry was worried about poor results and vandalism in some schools while parents acted as spectators.

Earlier, the school head Ms Malebogo Sebeelo said they were concerned about parents who reside at lands and cattle posts leaving their kids alone in the village. She said the kids needed their assistance and courage to excel.

Ms Sebeelo also appealed to the business community to adopt the school.  However, Collegium Publishers donated P5 000 to the school and promised to adopt one student, Kaone Ditogo.  ENDS
