09 Nov 2014
The Motor Vehicle Accident (MVA) has donated three computers and a sign board to Legotlhwana Primary School in Maun to mark a three-year partnership between the company and the school.
Speaking at the event, MVA public relations officer (PRO), Mr Onkabetse Petwana said they believed in quality education as it led to improved economy and poverty reduction.
Mr Petwana said education was an important parameter for the children’s future since no one can take it away from them. He said through their partnership, they will equip the school and teachers in terms of resources and skills to achieve quality education.
Mr Petwane noted that as MVA’s mandate was to assist those involved in road accidents, they therefore believed their contribution to education can have a role in addressing the problem of road accidents.
The school head teacher, Ms Gakeolatlhe Maphane appreciated the gesture by MVA, adding their school performed well in the midst of challenges of lack of accommodation for teachers, proper classrooms and offices. She said the good performance was as a result of parents and teachers’ commitment to students’ learning. ENDS
