A beneficiary of the Youth Development Fund (YDF) Mr Master Majaga has advised other youth entrepreneurs to always consider the concept of being creative when they start up their business projects.
In an interactive meeting with other entrepreneurs who were assisted through the YDF to start up their businesses recently, Mr Majaga who owns and runs a project, which deals with manufacturing and supplying cleaning detergents revealed that the concept of being creative is one of the key essentials that contribute to the success of a business.
Mr Majaga said although there are a lot of people who are already into this kind of a business, which even makes the market saturated, the reception he received of his products has been positive ever since he started.
He attributed this to the creativity concepts he always integrate into his work.
“Most of our fellows business fails to penetrate the markets and eventually collapse because there is lack of creativity. There is nothing wrong having the same business idea, what matters most is the creativity applied to mark the difference,” he said.
Mr Majaga said creativity offers a platform to come up with solutions to the problems that could lead to the failure of the business.
He also noted that being creative does not only make the business to be outstanding, rather it also helps increase the profits margins and the clientele database.
Mr Majaga also emphasized that business planning also plays a significant role in the success of a project.
He urged entrepreneurs to always have an accurate business plan so as to put the set plans into effect, adding that a business plan is one of the measures that can help to detect whether the business is growing or has remained stagnant.
The entrepreneur advised that starting a business requires passion and patience, and advised entrepreneurs to desist from the tendency of being absent from the project without any valid reasons.
“Starting a business is not a walk in the park, it comes along with challenges and it is unreasonable for you to expect profits overnight, you ought to be ready with innovative strategies that can be used to fight back the challenges,” he said.
He also advised other entrepreneurs that it is wise to always seek markets for their end products and services rather than sitting back and complaining about lack of customers and the market.
Mr Majaga said the youth should appreciate that the government has shown interest to develop their lives by availing programmes that seek to address challenges that most of them come across. Therefore, he said the youth should show appreciation and make use of the programmes in a wise manner.
The purpose of the meeting was to accord entrepreneurs a platform to share their business experience as well as to come up with strategies that they can implement to tackle the challenges they encounter in their businesses. ENDS
