Members of the New Apostolic Church of Zion (NACinZ) descended in Tonota for the ordination of Archbishop Thebe Mathake on November 1.
Speaking at the occasion, president prophet, Mr Joseph Motswasele of Spiritual Healing Church said Archbishop Mathake said during the first term of his leadership, the archbishop encouraged youth in the church to form a youth league which dealt with the promotion of youth development issues.
Prophet Motswasele said he launched a youth league committee in Shoshong in 2013. “’Currently Archbishop Mathake is a leader of the New Apostolic Church of Zion in Botswana and South Africa,” he added.
He encouraged the Archbishop to be accountable for all NACinZ churches in Botswana. Furthermore, he also encouraged the newly ordained Archbishop Mathake to unite the nation and encourage joint prayers.
For his part, Archbishop Mathake called for cooperation, love and support from all to build the church further. He said the church has a big role in the community, adding that it had participated in several compassionate activities such as constructing a house for an elderly person in Serowe, donating clothing to the needy families in Tlokweng, Salajwe and Mogoditshane.
Archbishop Mathake encouraged church members to identify target areas where they can offer a helping hand in line with the Presidential initiative of assisting those in need as enshrined in the bible. He said the church also strives to give hope to the community which includes the hope to live a peaceful life and to believe in the Lord as their saviour. ENDS
