FC Satmos have shuttered Green Lovers’ dreams by walloping them 3-1 in a First Division North league game played at Tlhare Setala grounds in Serowe.

No matter how much Green Lovers tried, they were no match for the more aggressive Satmos.

The first half started well with both teams being cautious but at the same time wanting to make their presence felt, especially Green Lovers who had the home ground advantage.

However, Satmos, pegged up at position two in the league log, were in a mean mood as they registered their first goal in the first minutes of the game through Mgcini Sibanada.

The teams went for recess with Satmos still leading by a single goal, and as soon as they had come back for the second half, the Selebi Phikwe side’s Mogakolodi Balatotse registered another goal.

Green Lovers did not take the challenge lying down as they fought with everything they had. Coach Surprise Keiketile’s substitute made a great difference as he scored Green Lovers’ only goal through a penalty.

The goal seemed to spur Satmos on; they fought hard though they made some silly fouls, which Green Lovers could have used to their advantage. Once again, wanting to prove a point, Satmos’ Mogakolodi Balatotse scored a third goal.

In an interview, Green Lovers coach Othusitse Kootswele, he said his team did their best but “I am disappointed by the loss,”. Kootswele said his boys’ play was low and that the team was struggling because their defense was shaky, hence they conceded three goals.

The coach said the outcome of the match was not going to pull them down as they were determined to stay amongst the top in the log. On the other side, Satmos coach Kgosietsile Jacob said he was glad that his team won. “We came prepared for the game,” he said.

Jacob said despite having experienced players in his team, they were still going to win the game as they had a very good game plan. However, he said since the registering of Mpoeleng Mpoeleng and Mosimanegape Ramohibidu was a positive change amongst his team, as they instilled more discipline and commitment. ENDS
