The Botswana Bikers Society in conjunction with Shoprite supermarket has donated to the 27 soldiers whose houses and property were guttered by fire.

The lead biker of the society, Bertus De Klerk said they heard about the incident and decided to join hands with Shoprite to donate P20 000 and vouchers worth P1 500 to each of the 27 victims.

Bertus said their relationship with BDF came a long way, noting that the force had been of great help to them in past years. Captain Bakang Gaobotswe said during the bizarre incident, no lives were lost and that they did everything in their power to support the victims.

He said inspite of their efforts to restore the victims’ lives to normal, their support was not enough hence their decision to call upon the nation for help.

Captain Gaobotswe appreciated the gesture by the donors, saying they were indeed living the Vision 2016 pillar of a compassionate, just and a caring nation. ENDS
