BOCCIM will hold its national business conference (NBC) in Maun from November 23 to 26.

BOCCIM CEO, Ms Maria Machailo-Ellis told a recent press conference that this year they had changed the venue from Francistown to Maun as stakeholders had appealed for change.

She said they were expecting 400 delegates, adding that the importance of NBC on the business community was meeting of top government and business leaders whose aim was to formulate a conducive business environment for Botswana firms.

Ms Machailo-Ellis said this year’s NBC will be different from the previous one because there would be a frank and open debate discussions on what Botswana needed to do to become an internationally competitive place for doing business.

She said they will also cover skills and openness to talent from other parts of the world. Ms Machailo Ellis said there will also have a business networking gala dinner at GICC on November 14.

She said that the purpose of this gala dinner is to allow various companies an opportunity to market themselves and their product and services.

She said they have chosen Mr Sifiso Dabengwa as the person who will be officiating at the BOCCIM Gala Dinner because he has vast experience in various sectors such as telecommunications, engeneering, finance and real estate.The tickes price for the gala dinner is P1OOO per person while is P10,000 for corporate table. she said that it is open to all even the non BOCCIM  members.

In conclusion she said that the event is pertinent as it enhances their objective of promoting networking platforms for their business community locally and regionally to achieve investment growth. 

She added that they will continue working with stakeholders to develop the habit of continuously discovering new opportunities to create wealth and employment and ultimately play a bigger role in global economy by attracting foreign investment. ENDS
