The Bimbos franchise restaurant in Kanye has closed shop and given way to a new South African brand, the Luckos.

Speaking in an interview recently, the Luckos manager, Mr Tshepo Thomas said they started business in Kanye on September 1, 2014, adding that that the reception had so far been encouraging.

He explained that his company, Ledi Legolo Enterprises, decided to terminate their contract with Bimbos for the Luckos brand because the former was rather too costly for the village market.

He said business was ailing under the Bimbos brand in Kanye because most of the people in the village, safe for a small working class, could barely afford their services. As a result Mr Thomas said they usually had good business at month ends and a dry spell in between hence the company could not sustain the brand.

“We operate like Bimbos in terms of work hours and services the only difference now is our prices are more affordable to customers from all backgrounds compared with Bimbos,” he said. Ends
