29 Sep 2014

Notwane Football Club resurrected onThursday, September 25 and registered their second win this season by walloping BR Highlanders 5-2.

The last time Notwane registered victory was in their opening game against Gaborone United when they walloped them 3-2, since then they lost all their five games.

However “Ma cat” redeemed their pride by walloping Mahalapye based- BR Highlanders in a beMOBILE encounter at SSKB grounds.

Although BR Highlanders played better football on the day lack of discipline on their opponents’ box, cost them three clear penalties which were easily converted by Odirile “Deco” Kgaodi, before the half time break.

After the break one would have thought that BR Highlanders technical team would change their tactics, given that they were trailing but alas that was never the case, since they continued with the same approach.

On the 60th minute, Emmanuel Masisi, received a killer pass from Emmanuel Machinya, and he did not waste time, but sent it straight to the net to make it four nil.

Just two minutes after the goal, Saukani Zulu increased Notwane tally through a header, to give his club a convincing win against BR Highlanders.

BR Highlanders were also awarded a penalty which was converted by Leteng Legopelo, whereas their second goal was scored by Lucky Vundla, and at the end the score sheet was reading Notwane 5-2 BR Highlanders.

After the game, BR Highlanders assistant coach, Tebogo Mokute said his side started the game very well but they were unlucky given that they failed to convert clear scoring opportunities.

He said also his team conceded unnecessary penalties, adding that could have been a contributing factor to their loss.

“Those three quick penalties cost us, I suspect my boys gave up quickly, but we will try to go and re-group,” he said.

BR Highlanders were registering their sixth loss, and out of the seven games they played, they only managed to win one game against Extension Gunners.

In other games played midweek, BMC beat Gaborone United one naught, Sankoyo Bush Bucks managed to hold Township Rollers to a one nil draw, BDF XI beat Motlakase 3-1 , Police XI increased Ecco City Greens woes by walloping them three nil, Orapa United beat  Football Club  Satmos two nil, high riding Mochudi Centre Chiefs scored a single goal against  Letlapeng, while  Extension Gunners beat  Nico United one nil.
