Heart To Give raises funds for charity
25 Sep 2014
Mahalapye sub-district chairperson, Mr Moatshe Senai has hailed a group of young people for raising funds towards the building of a house for a 10-year old Mokgenene resident living with disability.
The group called Heart To Give formed an alliance with Mahalapye Hospital to raise funds to build a house for the child. When opening a family fun day recently to raise funds for the cause, Mr Senai said it was pleasing to see young people coming together for such a noble cause.
“You are in line with the Vision 2016 pillar of a compassionate, caring and loving nation as well as the Presidential Housing Appeal in which President Lt General Seretse Khama Ian Khama pleaded with companies, organisations and individuals to help build shelter for the needy and people living with disabilities,” he said.
Mr Senai said Mahalapye Sub district Council would continue supporting and encouraging Heart To Give in their endeavor to build shelter for the needy people.
“We will lobby for financial support from those with money so that we can raise more funds to build the house,” he said.
However, Mahalapye Hospital public relations officer Ms Pauline Bontle said the main objective of the event was to raise funds to restore the dignity of the beneficiary so that she could fit well in the society. The event follows a fashion show held in May at Cresta Hotel and a Car Wash event held in July at Mahalapye Hospital.
