Malaria fight begins in Bobirwa

The Ministry of Health together with the Bobonong District Health Management team will embark on a door to door operation to spray houses against Malaria.
According to the Bobonong District Health Management Team officer, Mr Mompati Marole said the action was targeted to people who are prone to be affected by malaria disease such as old people, pregnant women and children who are under five years.
Speaking during an interview, Mr Marole noted that they had acquainted communities around Bobirwa about the indoor residual spray. He said they would commence spraying houses from October 1 to December 31 and they had targeted Gobojango, Mabolwe and Semolale as they were malaria zone areas.
Mr Marole highlighted that workshops have been conduct at the areas and people are aware of what is going to happen as he urged residents not to resist. Summer season is a rainy season and mosquito usually rapture and breed during rainy season because stagnant water creat a room for mosquito to harbor in, he said.
He said long lasting insecticides nets are available at clinic for people. Mr Marole encouraged people to visit clinics when they notice any malaria related symptom. He also encouraged people to clean up their environment and weed up their yards.
Mr. Marole said a team with experience has been selected to do spraying around the bobirwa region. ENDS
