Assemblies of God donates

The acting Minister for Presidential Affairs and Public Administration, Mr Shaw Kgathi has applauded Assemblies of God Church in Bobonong for making donations towards orphans, home-based care patients and care takers, widows as well as people living with disabilities.
He commended the church for the good gesture during an event held at the church to hand over the donations to the beneficiaries. During the same day, the church also held a 10km sponsored walk to raise funds for the church ceiling.
Mr Kgathi said the donations that the church made were in line with vision 2016 pillar of being a compassionate and caring nation, adding that this was God's teachings through the bible, calling on people to love and care for those in need.
He said government and President Lt Gen. Seretse Khama Ian Khama supported such initiatives aimed at giving people dignity, helping and feeding the needy, as well as clothing the needy.
He went on to state that the church formed the foundation of any society and that was why people were obliged to play a role in building the church.
He said the bible was the foundation of the constitution and helped guide society to live accordingly in peace and line with norms and morals of the bible. He said the bible gave guidance and counseling to the youth.
"In this regard, I found it fit to also play a role in building this church, so I went around requesting for donations to raise funds for the ceiling and Trade World who I approached donated ceiling for the church. They will provide all material needed for ceiling,” he said.
Meanwhile, one of the church leaders, Mr Mothusi Motlhanka said that they held the sponsored to raise funds to bring developments to the church, church nursery school and help the needy.
He went on to acknowledge Mr Kgathi for honouring their invitation and playing a role in their endeavor. The items that were donated include toiletry, washing powder, toilet papers among other things. Ends
