Café Khwest was a place of amusement on Sunday where the Laff-A-Lot Comedy crew presented their first comedy festival of the year.

It was a hilarious event though it did not attract many people as expected but the few who attended had great fun.

Though the show started on a low note with local comedians performing first, it eventually gained momentum when guest comics from South Africa took the stage.

In the local lineup, some of the comics in the likes of Laff-A-Lot pioneers, Bafana ‘Ribcracker’ Letsatsi and Modiri ‘MOD’ Keseabetswe did not disappoint.

The two, especially Mod, cracked jokes that the audience could not resist, he made them laugh throughout his stage time. 

Meanwhile, the hand full audience was treated to a series of funny jokes when first SA comic Tshekedi took the stage then followed Thabang who also left the audience with no choice but to laugh.

Thabang amused the audience when he talked about the recent Oscar Pistorious murder case where he said the girlfriend had bought him a pair of red socks on Valentine’s Day knowing he had no feet, he said that was when Oscar went crazy and shot his girlfriend.

The show reached its peak when Pule, a white guy who spoke Zulu and Setswana landed his foot on stage with his funny attire and the way he side walked like a banding palm tree. Pule became the audience’s favorite of the evening, it was just so funny a joke in Setswana coming from a white person.

Meanwhile, Pule has since been touring all over South Africa with his particular brand of kasi-oriented humour.

He has filled the stand-up slot in three episodes of Laugh Out Loud for Mzansi Magic and he entertained Julius Malema at the ANC Youth League Comedy Show Polokwane 2011.

Pule was also the headline act at 2012 State Theatre Comedy Nights and has performed at the popular 99% Zulu Comedy Show. He also featured in Strictly Vernac comedy show. ENDS
