Baby expo grows

The second Halo Nana Baby Expo is growing every year with more exhibitors, parents, expectant parents, babies and health experts rising to the occasion about the fundamental responsibilities of parenthood in the 21st century.
The two-day expo was held in Gaborone from September 5 with a panel of six health experts and pediatricians over a session that included various topics on how to raise tomorrow’s future leaders.
Ms Mpho Rabasha, an occupational therapist, taught the parents about the development and behavioral patterns of children from the age of birth until the school age.
Another health expert, Dr Sarona Mathware, a pediatrician and adolescent specialist stressed the importance of taking children to regular visits apart from the monthly weighs at the clinic or hospital.
For her part, Ms Pearl Kgosimang the Managing Director of Jourehall stated that the Halo Nana offers them an opportunity to interact with parents and tell them about the services they offer.
Jourehall -kid’s aftercare and guesthouse offers school holiday programme, aftercare (babysitting), practical life skills, language lessons, cooking and computer lessons.
Another exhibitor of Purple Light Cakes, who won third place in the Agric and Food Processing category at the 2014 Botswana Consumer Fair, said that she always has a passion for making cakes and being self- reliant.
Ms Amolemo Kalanke said the expo provides a business platform for her and her clients and wishes to expand her business and open a coffee shop where people can enjoy her delicate creations.
This year’s expo provided parents toddlers, babies and entrepreneurs in the baby industry with a chance to impart skills, knowledge, care and attention in the growth and development of children.
Different stalls exhibited babies’ clothes, toys and products and services that would ease parenthood. Ends
