Limkokwing University of Creative Technology Botswana has conferred an Honourary Doctorate of Leadership on Vice President, Dr Ponatshego Kedikilwe.

Dr Kedikilwe was bestowed this honour during the university's graduation ceremony on September 4. In his keynote address, Dr Kedikilwe expressed gratitude to the award conferred on him, saying he considered it a special honour that the mettle of honour had been placed on me.

The Vice President encouraged the graduates to adhere to ethical conduct and respect principle, adding that Limkokwing University was by definition the beacon of creativity and innovation.

“The government commends the institution for occupying this space and assures it of continued support in this partnership,” he said.

Dr Kedikilwe appreciated the immense efforts and commitment made by Limkokwing University’s owner and founder president, Tan Sri Dato’ Sri Paduka Dr Limkokwing.

The establishment of Limkokwing University in the country, he said was an enormous contribution to the education of Botswana’s generation of creative and innovative leaders.

The registration of private tertiary education institutions, Dr Kedikilwe said had not only reduced overdependence on government, but had also significantly increased access to tertiary education for qualifying senior secondary school leavers.

He commended Limkokwing University for establishing a Special Education Unit which caters for students with special needs. This, he said was congruent with government policy as derived from the Revised National Policy on Education (RNPE) of 1994, whose Commission he chaired.
