Nthobelang resigns
04 Sep 2014
Botswana Football Association (BFA), vice president technical, Ernest Nthobelang has resigned with immediate effect.
A press release from BFA stated that Nthobelang drew the BFA president,Tebogo Sebego's attention to the many assignments currently in his portfolio which require his fulltime attention.
It said Nthobelang recognised the great importance of the role the vice president technical had to play in leading and guiding the technical wing of the BFA and overseeing the national teams.
“I have thoroughly enjoyed my time as vice-president technical, but my current situation makes it impossible for me to give the time that such an important position demands,” the release quoted Nthobelang.
Nthobelang said the role demanded someone who had the time to commit to leading and guiding this aspect of Botswana football, adding that the BFA would remain close to his heart and he would give every assistance that he could if called on.
When accepting the resignation, Sebego paid tribute to the work of Nthobelang and thanked him for his contribution to football and for his decision, which was designed to benefit football.
Nthobelang was elected vice president technical at the BFA Annual General Assembly (AGA) in 2012, however, the BFA constitution allowed, the National Executive Committee to act on AGA matters of importance and to report its actions to the next AGA.
It said the NEC will therefore appoint an interim vice president technical to handle this important and demanding role. ENDS
