ICT penetration never determined

Parliament has been informed that the relationship between the percentage increase in penetration of Information Communication Technology and GDP per capita for the period 2007 to 2012 has never been determined.
Answering a question in Parliament, the Minister of Transport and Communications, Mr Nonofo Molefhi, however, said the telecommunications penetration rate ranged from 82 per cent in 2007 to 152 per cent in 2012 whilst the GDP per capita growth ranged from negative six per cent to six per cent between 2008 and 2011.
MP for Gaborone West North, Mr Robert Masitara had asked the minister to state the relationship between the percentage increases in penetration of Information Communication Technology on GDP per capita for the period 2007 to 2012. ENDS
