Maifala is new BTTA president

Lesego Maifala is the new president of Botswana Table Tennis Association (BTTA).
He ascended to the seat unopposed to succeed Thebe Selema on August 29. Affiliates at the BTTA annual general assembly in Gaborone also voted six more executive committee members into office.
Five posts were unopposed and Bolokang Pema became the new secretary general, Boiki Selerio retained the position of treasurer, Kudzanani Motswagole was elected tournaments organiser while Thatayaone Poiya took the role of youth development manager.
Follah Leero and Tswelelo Kgololo beat Malebogo Kgomanyane, Katlego Nkgwakgweng and Letshego Moeng to the two posts of additional member after garnering five and three votes respectively.
New president Maifala vowed to prioritise youth development and improve the standard of table tennis in Botswana. “We shall wholeheartedly ensure that we produce the best ever. We are looking a lot into exposing table tennis internationally, which will obviously improve the standards locally. ENDS
