31 Aug 2014

Organisations have been encouraged to be responsible for their employees’ wellbeing.

Speaking recently during the Botswana Power Corporation wellness day, Kgosi Kealetile Moremi applauded the corporation for making a deliberate decision not only to pay wages to their employees but also to be concerned about their health, wellbeing and that of their families.

Kgosi Moremi said healthy employees prospered in the work place because they felt valued, were in good health and were highly motivated not just at work but in their general outlook in life.

She also encouraged BPC employees to play their role by visiting doctors whenever they do not feel well because the corporation has enrolled them in medical aid scheme.

“Botswana Power Corporation has demonstrated that its employees are not just technicians, engineers or simply workers but rather need care and attention,” said Kgosi Moremi.

She also urged Maun residents to utilise the resources brought by BPC wellness day in order to understand their health better.

She said the scourge of HIV/AIDS has been increasing in large numbers in terms of new infections every year because Batswana do not want to know their status and take medication appropriately.

Kgosi Moremi thanked the corporation for having Maun as the host village noting that residents would also benefit from the day event. ENDS
