Galaxy FC 8232appeals for support

The business community has been urged to afford the newly formed Jwaneng Galaxy Football Club the necessary support.


Speaking during a consultative meeting in Jwaneng recently, the senior sustainability manager for Debswana Mine, Tefo Molosiwa applauded the club's leadership for merging Debswana Young Stars FC with Jwaneng Comets to form a formidable side that would represent the mining town.


He said his company built a state of the art sports facilities in Jwaneng and sponsored several sports related activities in the past which he described as a show of their commitment to sports development in the country.


For his part, Jwaneng Galaxy FC president, Keolatotse Keolatotse said they were aiming for the elite league within a space of two years. 
Keolatotse said they saw the need to unify the two teams to avoid competing for the available meager resources in the town.

He said his team would mould the players into all round, responsible and law abiding stars through life skills training. 
He added that the development would also give the players a platform that would enable them to be exported to other countries where they would gain experience and exposure.


Meanwhile stakeholders at the meeting encouraged the team management to stay clear of destructive criticism. They also advised the team to devise a robust community liaison strategy in order to lure Jwaneng soccer lovers to follow the team.The team was further encouraged to find a local brand to dress them.Ends
