Use empowerment programmes - Motlhale

Member of Parliament for South East South, Mr Odirile motlhale has urged the youth to use government empowerment initiatives to enhance their living.
Speaking at the youth empowerment workshop in Ramotswa on August 23, Mr Motlhale said it was important for the youth to make good use of the initiatives to reduce the unemployment rate. He also urged them to read government publications such as the DailyNews to inform themselves about the empowerment programmes.
Nevertheless, Mr Motlhale encouraged the youth to have a positive attitude towards attaining their goals. “Positive thinking always keeps you going no matter the challenges one faced, you learn to pick yourself up and keep going in order to reach your goals,” said Mr Motlhale.
He said that negativity had never benefited anyone, adding that those who were always negative tended to give easily whenever they started facing minor challenges. However, Mr Motlhale reminded the youth of a prominent business mogul, Mr Seabelo Tlhaselo who was not discouraged to leave the life he had desired and started his business out of nothing.
For his part, the Local Enterprise Authority (LEA) entrepreneurship development trainer, Mr Victor Ramaribana said tough situations should strengthen entrepreneurs and make them determined to reach the levels they wanted to reach.
Mr Ramaribana said business ideas were like finger prints and differed from one person to the other, and businesses had challenges that needed determined individuals to fight them to achieve their dreams. “We do not want situations whereby we feed people with business ideas and then they come to blame us whenever those ideas fail,” he said.
Furthermore, Mr Ramaribana encouraged the aspiring entrepreneurs to treat customers equally regardless of their situations in order to succeed. He also urged the youth not to go into businesses because they want to be seen adding that such mentality has led to the collapse of many youth led businesses. Ends
