SOS children graduate in ICT skills

Central region Education director, Ms Molebi Morolong has implored children from the SOS village to nurture information and communication technology (ICT) skills they gained through the Sesigo initiative.
Speaking during a mini ICT graduation at Serowe library on Wednesday, August 20 Ms Morolong told the twenty six (26) basic computer course graduates from the SOS village to sharpen their gained skills by practicing what they learnt.
She said through passion and continued exploration, their ITC skills will improve.
The ICT skills gained by the graduates, Ms Morolong said, should be a breakthrough to their education as it will enhance their interaction with their colleagues, better their presentation skills and research skills.
The director added that ICT could reduce congestion at the library.
She stressed that ICT skill is value addition to education that will help children penetrate the global world.
She also told the library staff to involve or engage the graduates and make them teach other children ICT to afford them the opportunity to unleash and nurture their potential.
Ms Morolong said that government is committed to continuing to bridge the ICT gap as it is the most convenient form of communication and enhances education.
For her part, senior librarian for Serowe library, Ms Masego Maswabi hailed the Sesigo Project and appealed to relevant stake holders to have input in their children’s education.
She also commended the library staff for their commitment to helping the children as they attended the lessons on weekends.
She encouraged the public to utilize the library.
