Masa Centre gives to charity
21 Aug 2014
Masa Centre’s manager, Mr Eranse Mooki has commended those who took part in the Food and Clothing for Charity campaign aimed at giving back to the less privileged members of society.
The campaign, which started in June will end in November. Mr Mooki said during the first hand over ceremony in Gaborone that it was humbling to see the community being part of an event meant to change the lives of others for better. Donated items included tinned and long lasting food items as well as clothing.
The items were given to two selected charities, namely Mother Pontsho Foundation from Mmopane and Anne Stine Centre from Molepolole.
The coordinator of Anne Stine Centre Ms Nankie Kgosiemang thanked Masa Centre and its partners for their efforts. She said that the campaign restored dignity of the less privileged and helped put a smiles on the children’s faces.
She said being allowed to enjoy the centre’s facilities will forever remain a memorable experience for them. The fun filled day saw the children being given a lunch treat catered by Gourmet Grill Restaurant.
Jumping castles also provided a joyful moment for the children. They could not have gone home without having experienced the thrill of 3D movie and their wishes were granted when they settled in the comfort of the centre’s New Capitol 3D cinema.
The second hand over ceremony will be on December 1. The centre’s management appealed to all to continue supporting charity foundations. ENDS
