20 Aug 2014

The acting Minister for Presidential Affairs and Public Administration, Mr Shaw Kgathi has commended Letshego Financial Services company for donating over P1 million to be shared among 18 small companies.

Speaking during the company’s annual corporate social responsibility (CSR) dinner in Gaborone on August 18, Mr Kgathi said the initiative was commendable because Letshego provided financial support where there was need.

He urged the beneficiaries to use the money wisely and effectively to help sustain themselves, urging other companies to take a leaf from Letshego in as far as benevolence was concerned.

He also appreciated Letshego’s effort saying the company had also assisted the government by building 12 houses under the President’s Housing Appeal in a period of a year.

The minister also highlighted the fact that Letshego supported BOSASNET in its campaign against drug abuse at a time when government funding could not be possible.

Letshego Financial Services’ gesture of good will has now become an annual affair, and the P1  076 000 donation to be divided among the 18 companies represents one per cent of the profits made in a year.

This year’s beneficiaries included Life Line Botswana, African Stars, Re Mmogo Youth Organisation, Re ka kgona, Childline, Ledumang Seconday School, and Botswana Society Organisation, among others. ENDS
