Francistown gears up for independence
18 Aug 2014
Francistown acting district commissioner, Ms Goabaone Mathumo has appealed to heads of departments to assist in speeding up preparations for this year’s independence celebrations.
Speaking at the first preparatory meeting for the 48th independence celebrations on August 15, Ms Mathumo said the district delayed in preparing for the celebrations as there was need for guidance from the BOT50 on how it should be conducted, as this year’s activities should be aligned to the BOT50 celebrations.
She therefore said since there were only few weeks left prior to independence celebrations, all relevant stakeholders should speed up the preparations.
Ministry of Youth Sports and Culture officer, Ms Menki Bokole said the BOT50 celebrations were launched in Gaborone in July, paving way for different districts to start preparations. ENDS
