Church blesses family

18 Aug 2014

Balete leader, Kgosi Mosadi says it is pleasing to have churches joining forces with the government to help the needy.

Kgosi Mosadi said this during the donation of food stuffs to Moepi family by the Holy Ghost House International Ministries recently. She said the action by the church showed compassion to the less privileged as well as restoring their much needed hope.

Furthermore, she encouraged the youth to make use of government initiatives such as poverty eradication programmes to better their lives adding that some people chose to relax hoping for miracles.

“God helps those who help themselves, ” she said. Nevertheless, she cautioned churches against conducting nocturnal services saying they exposed their members especially youth to criminal activities.

She said some charismatic pentecostal churches had turned religious youth into night crawlers yet the churches failed to ensure the safety of such youth. She said it hadbecome an order of the day that such churches operate several days a week and midweek night services end up late.

For his part, the church administrator Mr Andrew Pitse said that the gesture was their way of showing compassion to the less fortunate.

He said they were pleased to have heeded the president’s call to join hands in ending abject poverty.

Mr Pitse also said that their mission was to be in line with the vision pillar of being a compassionate just and caring nation by the year 2016.

He noted that the ministry has chosen to help a 100 needy people every month from both the Kweneng and South East constituencies.

The Moepi family’s house burnt due to electric fault in May this year were given foodstuffs amounting to P350 and the church has already spent about P10 000 in renovating their house. ENDS
