Sankoyo register second victory

Premier league's new boys, Sankoyo Bush Bucks came from behind to secure a 2-1 victory against FC Satmos 2-1 in Selebi Phikwe Stadium on  August 16.

Satmos took the lead through Lovers Mofokeng’s first half strike, but Thato Manowe levelled for Ngurungu, as Sankoyo are affectionately known, before half time.

Satmos launched a number of attacks in the second half but failed to unlock the visitors’ defence. However, Ngurungu also launched attacks that saw Manowe score his second goal of the match to secure victory for the North West-based rookies.

It was the second win after two matches for Sankoyo, and the team’s assistant coach, Gadimang Tiiso said he was happy with his boys’ performance.

He noted that his camp still had a lot of work to do despite winning their first two matches in the premier league, adding the best was yet to come in the next matches. Tiiso also said their intention was to maintain their Premier League status. He also congratulated his players.

Meanwhile, FC Satmos assistant coach, Kgosiitsile Jacob expressed disappointment at his team’s play. Jacob said his side was not up to scratch and lacked mental strength and physical fitness. 

In other weekend matches, Mochudi Centre Chiefs went top of the table after beating BDF XI 4-2 in the crunch match of the weekend. 

Bonolo Phuduhudu and Pelontle Lerole were on target for Matebele while Onalethata Tshekiso, Michael Mogaladi, Kenamile Mani and Bonolo Fraizer scored for Magosi.

Otlaantshekela Mooketsi scored a last gasp goal to rescue a 1-1 draw for Township Rollers against Extension Gunners at Lobatse Sports Complex. Mosimanegape Ntwaetsile had given Mapantsula the lead.

Nico United secured a 1-1 draw against Orapa United at Itekeng Stadium while BMC beat Ecco City Greens 3-2. Ends
