Kesupile encourages youth to turn to God

11 Aug 2014

Member of Parliament for Kanye South, Mr Abram Kesupile has implored youth to repent and join church as it is a building block for their future.

Speaking at Kanye’s Christ–Citadel International Church’s thanks giving ceremony on  August 9, he said, the word of God had got the power to change people’s lives to the positive.

He said it was therefore imperative for the youth to attend churches to hear messages that could shape their future. He said a church was an institution in which the word of God was being taught and it could help the youth to desist from awkward behaviour.

He said churches contributed immensely to peace, democracy and shaping the future of this country hence it was imperative for them to pray for this country citing that other countries were not blessed as Botswana because of lack of political, economic and social stability.

He therefore urged churches to pray for this country as the elections date draws nearer which is set for October 24 for peace to prevail.

However, Pastor of Christ–Citadel International Church Kanye branch, Lydah Goilatshwene said the love for Batswana and the country propelled them to conduct a thanks giving event.

The event involved donating 50 blankets to the less privileged and people living with disability as well as elderly people.

She said she is duty bound as a pastor to give to the elderly people because they are the light of this country.

She said it is part of her work as a Christian to give to those who are in need and implored other fellow Christians to follow suit emphasizing that every citizen should endeavor to give back to the community or country.

She noted that giving back to the country is implementing the word of God stressing that loving people is to love God.

She said time is ripe for Batswana to help government in meeting people’s needs to ease the burden on social protection programmes. Ends
