Malete Land Board donates to BORAVAST
03 Mar 2013
Employees of Malete Land Board on Saturday donated clothing to destitute persons, needy students, orphans and children in need of care in Bokspits, Rappelspan, Vaalhoek and Struizendam (BORAVAST) region.
At the hand over of hampers in Bokspits under the message: unconditional love is when you give expecting nothing in return, MLB representative, Ms Motlatsi Sello said the gesture was in partial fulfilment of Vision 2016 pillar of a compassionate, just and caring nation.
She said as a government institution, the land board employees were playing their part in the poverty eradication efforts because government alone could not afford to provide for everybody especially that the country was still battling with the economic downturn.
Ms Sello also indicated that Malete Land Board was also encouraged to donate to BORAVAST upon learning that the region was hit hard by poverty. She appealed to Batswana to take pride in giving to the less privileged in order to help bridge the disparity that existed between the rich and the poor.
On behalf of the council leadership, Mr Manfred Kono commended the land board employees for their benevolence to the BORAVAST region.
Bokspits/Struizendam ward councillor, Mr Frederik Titus said the council could not afford to budget for every need of its people due to economic recession and as such found the donation more than welcome. ENDS
