The annual cross country charity bicycle Women Tour kicks off on August 16 from Airport Junction Mall and will end on September 27.

A press release by Woman Tour stated that during the tour, the team would address women and youth in selected under-served communities around Botswana to educate, mentor and inspire about economic and social upliftment issues.

The Woman Tour would be a challenging charitable bicycle journey whose route traversed selected under-served remote villages of Botswana and covers over four thousand kilometers.

The release stated that the vision of this initiative was to reach a wide base of women and youth, especially those in rural areas in order to inspire, educate, empower and motivate them to take advantage of economic opportunities in their villages to earn a living, change their lives and reduce, if not eradicate poverty.

It said that the vocal points would be entrepreneurship, cervical cancer and social development. The bicycle tour aimed to educate and raise awareness of life possibilities.

The main goal was to change people’s lives for the better by giving them knowledge and know how, says the release.  Ends
