Ministry cleans Oodi kgotla

Ministry of Labour and Homes Affairs undertook a community service day recently at Oodi in the Kgatleng District, where officers swept the kgotla yard, offices, trimmed trees and picked up litter.
The department of occupational health and safety in partnership with the University of Botswana’s Centre for Continuing Education (CCE) also donated a computer, printer and 20 chairs to Oodi kgotla.
Handing the donations, Permanent Secretary in the Ministry of Labour and Home Affairs, Mr Ikwatlhaeng Bagopi said their ministry had set aside a day to carry out community service in line with Vision 2016 pillar of being a compassionate, just and caring nation.
Mr Bagopi said the computer would go a long way in addressing the needs of the residents and kgotla office.
He promised that they would also provide printing papers. For his part, the director of occupational health and safety, Mr Kaelo Yane said they had a programme where each department takes part in a community service day to assist other Batswana
Mr Yane said they are working together with CCE department from the University of Botswana which runs a short course on occupational health and safety while the ministry facilitates the course. Ends
