29 Jul 2014
The Assistant Minister of Local Government and Rural Development, Mr Olebile Gaborone has told Parliament that he is aware of the dilapidated state of the Lesedi Community Hall at Selemela ward in the Gaborone South constituency.
Responding to a question in Parliament on July 28, Mr Gaborone said due to budgetary constraints, his ministry through the Gaborone City Council had no plans to construct a new community hall in the area.
In this regard, he said the residents would be provided with service in other community halls within their proximity such as the Civic Centre Hall and Lesedi Primary school facilities.
Mr Gaborone was responding to a question that was asked by Gaborone South Member of Parliament Mr Kagiso Molatlhegi. MP Molatlhegi had asked the minister whether he is aware of the dilapidated state of Lesedi Community Hall at Selemela ward in the Gaborone Constituency.
He also wanted to know whether there are any plans to construct a new community hall for the above mentioned areas and requested to know when the residents should expect the construction of the facility. ENDS
