The Review of Conditions of Service for members of the Botswana Police Service and the Botswana Prisons Service is on-going, the Minister of Defence, Justice and Security, Mr Dikgakgamatso Seretse has said.

Responding to a question from Francistown South MP, Mr Wynter Mmolotsi, Mr Seretse said the Botswana Defence Force’s review of conditions of service for members of the BDF was currently conducted by Tsa Badiri Consultancy.

As for the police, he said, an open tender was floated and closed on June 17. However, he said it turned out to be non-responsive. Consequently, he said the police service was working on direct appointment of an expert to conduct the review.

“With respect to the Botswana Prisons Service Terms of Reference have been developed and we are now in the process of procuring the services of a professional consulting company to assist in the review,” he added.

MP for Francistown South had asked Mr Seretse to update the house on the progress on the review of conditions of service for the Botswana Defence Force, the police and prisons. ENDS
