Central south launches logo

The Central South Region Football Association recently launched a new logo at a football tournament hosted at Railways grounds.
Speaking during the launch, chairperson of the association, Kaizer Sekaba said the logo was peculiar and matched their professional football standard.
He said the central region was recently divided into two, hence the central south region. When explaining the logo to the audience, Sekaba said they chose the slogan, Beyond the horizon view, to emphasise the fact that they are dreaming beyond the usual and they want to bring wholesome changes in football and develop the game further.
He said they have all that it takes to reach their desired heights, saying that all they need to do is to revive and nurture talent which is already available in abundance.
He said the logo also has a symbol of the sun to show that a new down has come hence they have to take the central region back to its original status, when it used to be known for producing top players for both the national team and premier league teams something that has not been happening lately.
He also said another symbol is a football, which is the driving force.
He went on to mention that football these days is no longer a subject of entertainment but rather a profession which needs to be taken seriously as it puts food on the table for many families.
Sekaba said their logo bears the national colours in acknowledgement of their nationality as Batswana.
He explained that his region has it all planned, how they are going to change the face of football in their region and become the face of football in Botswana.
He stated that their plan is, starting from this season, to force teams to use 40 per cent of under 20 players in their starting lineups.
“ We believe that by so doing, within two years, the oldest of our players will be 25 years, therefore guaranteeing that all our teams will not be sent back from play offs,” he added.
He also said they are aiming to have 5 per cent of players in the national team and 30 per cent in the under 20 as well as 35 per cent in the under 17 national team.
He further said the structure will be oiled and balanced and his top dream is to see some of the national team coaches and referees coming from his region. ENDS
