BDF urges residents to use amenities

23 Jul 2014

Botswana Defence Force, through its programmes, strives to assist in any way possible to alleviate and restore dignity and integrity of Batswana.

Speaking during a Family Wellness Day held in Maun under the theme “Good health for all, united and proud in health and wellness,” Major Ntungamile Gobagoba, a Maun Camp Commandant said that their programmes bring amenities nearer to the people for accessing at no cost.

Major Gobagoba urged Maun residents to use the amenities to improve their lifestyle and extend their life span.

“Health is of paramount importance and it is vital that we continuously visit the doctors to know how we are as far as health is concerned,” he said.

He also said drugs alone cannot guarantee them a healthy living, hence the need for them to engage in sporting activities.

Major Gobagoba encouraged them to start a new journey in self- sustenance and well-being of one’s self in order to live healthy lives.

He urged them to make good use of the resource centre that was opened in their area in 2012.

He said they could use the centre for research purposes to empower themselves.

Major Gobagoba thanked all individuals and organisations which contributed such as Choppies, Shoprite among others to make the day’s activities a success.  ENDS
