Masimolole explains boarding situation at Kagiso

There are 189 female and 160 male students residing in the school hostels at Kagiso Senior Secondary School, the Assistant Minister of Education and Skills Development, Mr Patrick Masimolole has said.
Responding to a parliamentary question, Mr Masimolole said out of this number 219 were in form four (110 females and 109 males) while 130 were in form five (79 females and 51 males).
He said the average number of students staying in a room at the hostels was 20 and the average room size was eight metres by five metres or 40 square metres. Mr Masimolole said a single room could carry a maximum of 14 students.
South East South MP, Mr Odirile Motlhale had asked the minister to state the total number of form fours (male and female) students as well as form fives residing in hostels at Kagiso.
He further asked the minister to state the average number of students staying in a room at the boys’ and girls’ hostels respectively. MP Motlhale also asked the minister to state the average room size and the maximum number of students a single room can carry. ENDS
