Government considers Dibete for SEZ

The Minister of Trade and Industry, Ms Dorcas Makgato-Malesu, has told Parliament that Dibete and other areas will be considered for a Special Economic Zone (SEZ) in future if resources permit.
Answering a question in Parliament, Ms Makgato-Malesu said in 2012, a study to identify economically viable SEZ across the country was conducted and eight sites had been earmarked which however do not include Dibete.
Shoshong MP, Mr Dikgang Makgalemele had asked the minister to state if there were plans to develop Dibete into an investment and business hub given its strategic and comparative advantages that include its location along the A1 highway and direct access to the railway line. ENDS
