Minister of Defence, Justice and Security, Mr Ramadeluka Seretse has told Parliament that his ministry is providing effective policing in Mmopane, Kopong, Gaphatshwa and areas between Lentsweletau and Kweneng villages.

Responding to a question from MP for Kweneng East, Major General Moeng Pheto, Mr Seretse said Police posts in those areas were headed by officers of the rank of sub-inspectors or sergeants and also special constables were deployed to those areas to augment police strength in fighting against crime.

He said Police posts were supported by mobile units from Mogoditshane and Molepolole Police Stations and adding that posts were created to take police services nearer to the communities through the Community Based Policing Strategy.

Major Gen. Pheto had asked the minister whether he realises the need to urgently address the issues of providing effective police services in all the areas stated above. ENDS
