As part of their corporate social responsibility initiative, Dulux Botswana recently donated waste bins to primary schools in Gaborone.
Speaking at the donation handover, Mr Wellington Murambiwa, managing director of Dulux, said their goal through this initiative was to embrace environmental awareness and ensure that Dulux is at the forefront in protecting the environment.
He said the donation would make a positive impact in the community and benefit Dulux consumers, employees and stakeholders.
“It is our desire to partner with the council in ensuring that every school and community centre around Gaborone and beyond has waste disposal facilities such as refuse bins,” said Mr Murambiwa.
He revealed that in the next six months Dulux will donate 100 to 150 waste disposable bins.
He added that their initiative will go a long way in beautifying the environment and educating communities about the importance of environmental protection.
When giving a vote of thanks, the mayor for Gaborone, Mr Haskins Nkaigwa thanked Dulux for their donation, saying the bins would enable students to live in a clean environment and improve public health. ENDS
