Somelo ranches not fenced yet

The assistant minister of Local Government and Rural Development Ms Botlogile Tshireletso has told Parliament that fencing of the two Somelo ranches (16x 8km) and (8x8km) has not been undertaken since the project could not be accommodated during NDP 10.
She said efforts by the district to secure funds internally were also not successful due to financial constraints .
However she said the project will be reconsidered during the coming plan period NDP 11.
MP for Maun East Mr Frank Ramsden had asked the minister when the Somelo settlement 2 ranches will be fenced as promised by government since the establishment of the settlement in the 1980’s. END
