Ramotswa based premier league new comers Letlapeng will bolster their squad ahead of their maiden appearance in the elite league.

The club chairperson Sidney Mogagane said during the club’s award ceremony on Saturday July 5 in Ramotswa.

He said the club has been talking to some of its potential recruits for the past four weeks but nothing has been finalised yet.

“We want to sign at least six players with premier league experience,” he said and added that this would be in addition to the current squad which won then automatic promotion to the beMobile League last season.

However, he said the signing of experienced players is not yet guaranteed as the club does have financial muscles for the task. While promotion to the elite league is good for the club, he pointed that it has also come up with other mandatory requirements such as the need to sign contracts with players as well as finding an office space for the club.

Yet he said all have been delayed by lack of funds and made an appeal to Balete community to come to the rescue of the team.

“This is a community team, we are going to need the input of all,” Mogagane added.

He pointed that their initial projections pointed out that the team’s monthly budget would be in the access of P70 000, which they do not even have at the moment.

Mogagane said the premier league monthly budget comes closer to about P147 000 for the whole season during their campaign in the Debswana First Division league.

Meanwhile, he said Letlapeng has been holding trails for aspiring players but he regretted that majority of those who turned up could not complement what they wanted.

Still at the event, transport mogul Seabelo Tlhaselo pledged P10 000 towards securing an office space for the club as well as promising to connect the office telephone line and internet.

Balete Paramount Chief, Kgosi Mosadi pledged P2 000 while the area Member of Parliament, Odirile Motlhale pledged P1 000 towards the club finances. ENDS
