Pre-school key to child development
26 Jun 2014
Principal of Shechem Valley Day Care Centre in Maun, Ms Ruth Nkolokosah, has emphasised the importance of pre-school centres in the preparation of pupils for focused education.
Speaking in an interview recently, Ms Nkolokosah said as future leaders, children needed to be nurtured at tender ages to gradually transform their minds according to required standards.
She said quality education began at pre-schools up to tertiary. Ms Nkolokosah said parents also needed to groom their children at home at an early age, adding that kids were doing well at her centre and continued to excel at government primary schools.
She said the centre offered mathematics, English, Social Studies and computer lessons which she said were core in pupils’ future careers as well as religious knowledge, which she said prepared children to be mindful of moral issues. ENDS
